Mike Bedenbaugh
Navy Veteran, Congressional Candidate, Citizen
Michael Bedenbaugh is a respected voice in historic preservation, community development, and constitutional governance. He is the author of Reviving Our Republic: 95 Theses for the Future of America, a bold blueprint for restoring America’s founding principles through practical reforms—ranging from ending omnibus bills and curbing corporate influence in politics to restoring the Senate’s original constitutional role and returning taxing authority to the states.
A native of Prosperity, South Carolina, Michael’s lifelong reverence for history led him to serve as president and executive director of Preservation South Carolina, where he spearheaded initiatives that proved the economic and cultural value of historic preservation. His leadership blended innovative problem-solving with a deep respect for tradition, earning him South Carolina’s highest civilian honor, the Order of the Palmetto, awarded by Governor Henry McMaster.
Before entering the nonprofit arena, Michael was CEO of Post No Bills, Inc., a product marketing firm that partnered with major brands such as Phillip Morris USA, RCA Records, DreamWorks, Universal Pictures, and MGM. His diverse career also includes five years of service in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS South Carolina, studies in international studies and history at the University of South Carolina and Columbia University, and leadership in local governance as a city council member and chair of his county Board of Zoning Appeals.
In 2024, Michael ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in South Carolina’s 3rd District as an independent under the Alliance Party banner, advocating for structural reforms, stronger representation, and the renewal of America’s constitutional balance of power. He is also a political contributor to The European and National World, and is represented by Double Agents in the United Kingdom and Ascot Media Group in the United States.
Michael extends his advocacy for civic renewal through his podcast, Perspective with Mike Bedenbaugh, where he examines the intersection of history, politics, and community development. As a member of Preservation Action in Washington, D.C., he continues to champion policies that strengthen local communities and preserve America’s heritage.
From revitalizing endangered historic churches to challenging the entrenched structures of modern governance, Michael’s work reflects a consistent belief: that understanding our past is the surest way to shape a freer, stronger future.
